Heather Hurley-Cook,PT received a Bachelors of Science degree from SUNY New Paltz in Psychology with a minor in Biology. She continued her education to receive her  Master's of Physical Therapy from Neumann College in 2002.

She started her journey at Bellevue Hospital experiencing all that a Level I trauma center has to offer. In addition to her rotations in the hospital, she worked closely with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) allowing the rehab staff to have a presence in the daily recovery of the hospitals new babies. Her love for treating children continued when she joined the staff at S.K.I.P/ T.I.P.S.E., a local preschool, as well as taking on Early Intervention (birth - 3 years old) homecare.  After almost 10 years in this setting Heather started Confident Kidz to break down the constraints of what therapy can offer to the community.  Heather Hurley-Cook has been a physical therapist since 2002 and has been working exclusively with children since 2004.

In those years she has worked with many neurological and musculoskeletal diagnoses including developmental delay, autism, torticollis, sensory processing disorder, coordination disorders, cerebral palsy, genetic conditions, inter utero stroke and many more.

In addition, Heather is a certified Child Light Yoga instructor.  Today's children are over-scheduled and overstressed. Yoga offers them strategies to become active participants in their daily lives.  She has also received yoga training for the special needs child.  She has taken many continuing education courses to improve the lives of those she treats. Including toe walking, childhood hemiplegia/ CIMT, solutions for sensory processing disorder, pediatric ergonomics and positioning to name a few.

When she is not at Confident Kidz Heather enjoys being outdoors and on vacations with her husband and 3 boys. She enjoys coaching soccer, skiing, going to the beach, watching the sunset and watching her boys play sports. Family is a big part of her life.
